Chat w/ William Fawcett, Cambridge Architectural Research

The Duffle coat, a non-tailor made garment available only in a few sizes, has proven to be very ‘adaptable’ to a wide range of wearers over three generations (photo K Thornburrow).

William Fawcett of Cambridge Architectural Research visited Loughborough on Tuesday and shared his work that he has been doing on lifecycle options.  William’s work explores measuring and putting value on flexibility through simple simulation models.  The work defines a space’s flexibility by understanding the possible activities states, not the number of physical configurations. You can read a paper William published with MIT Projections here.
